Christian Education at St. George’s

You are never too old or too young to hear and explore, claim and cherish the
Good News of God’s love for you in Christ Jesus. Consequently, St. George’s is
committed to offering opportunities for all people to be nourished in the
relationship with God.

Adult Education

The Adult Forum under the leadership of Patti Morrow meets upstairs from

9:30 A.M. – 10:45 A.M. every Sunday morning and is currently doing a Lectionary - based study.

Cathy and Paul Raymer's book study will be reading

The Art of Being Together by

 the Rev. Francis Wade

The class meets downstairs across from the Level One Atrium at 9:45 A.M. every Sunday morning.

Children and Youth Education

The Nursery is open to children from infancy through the age of three from 9:30
A.M. – 12:30 P.M. on Sunday mornings. Parents are encouraged to collect their
children from the Nursery at the time of the Peace (around 11:30 A.M.) in order
to bring them to receive Holy Communion with them as a family. Nursery
attendants are Lisa Smith and Nell Burns.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori based program for the
spiritual nurture of children. Committed to the belief that every child has
both the capacity and the deep urgency for a relationship with God, the
Catechesis offers an approach to help the child establish, nourish and develop
a life long faith in God. The child learns to hear, contemplate and treasure
the parables and teachings of Jesus. Practical life lessons help a child
develop and mature in his or her own prayer life. Under the guidance of highly-
trained Catechists, the children of the Catechesis enjoy and grow in their love
for the Good Shepherd who knows each of his sheep by name. Even the youngest of
the children receive presentations that increase their ability to fully
participate in the liturgies and traditions of the church. The class meets
from 9:45 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. each Sunday, concluding with the children’s own
worship around their prayer table followed by the children joining their parents for Holy Communion.

Catechists are Diane Dunnahoo, Catherine Jones, Anna Corsa, Elisha Elias and Kaitlin Brown
